About Us

Bessemer City Primary School serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through second grade and is proud to be a true neighborhood school. Many of our students follow in the footsteps of their parents and even grandparents, continuing a tradition of learning together as part of the Bessemer City family.

We are known for our strong sense of community, close partnerships, and dedicated staff, many of whom have taught here for years or even attended the school themselves. Our school works closely with Bessemer City Central Elementary to support student growth and create a smooth transition as students move through their educational journey.

With small class sizes that average fewer than 20 students, we provide a personalized and nurturing learning environment. We offer extra support during the school day in both reading and math to help all students succeed.

Bessemer City Primary is also one of the few schools in the district to offer a newcomer class. This special program is designed to support students who are new to the English language, helping both children and their families feel comfortable and confident at school.
